About...
If you have read the first Omens of the Stars book, The Fourth Apprentice, then you are familiar with Dovepaw and Tigerheart. If you looked carefully, you might notice that Tigerheart seems a bit fond of the young apprentice. What evidence is there, you say! Well, there's loads of it, would you like to see some excerpts from the book?
The Fourth Apprentice, pg. 120:Russetfur rolled her eyes, and Toadfoot flicked his ears contemptuously, but Dovepaw picked up a sympathetic glance from Tigerheart, and she started to feel a little better. Maybe at least one of the ShadowClan cats was friendly.
See? Even from the beginning, Tigerheart seems to be friendly.
The Fourth Apprentice, pg. 131:"Hey, we survived, didn't we?" Tigerheart interrupted his Clanmate. [...] "We showed those dumb Twolegs! They were terrified! Who cares if we meet them again?" Turning to Dovepaw, he added, "Don't worry. I'll protect you."
This was pretty...random. In the rest of that paragraph, Dovepaw wasn't mentioned. The chapter that this was in wasn't even told from Dovepaw's viewpoint! by the way, the [...] means that some of the text was omitted, to save space.
The Fourth Apprentice, pg.203:"Great StarClan!" Tigerheart exclaimed, sitting up and shaking dead leaves from his pelt. "Dovepaw, you're wrigglier than a pile of worms!"
"Sorry," Dovepaw muttered.
Tigerheart pushed his nose briefly into her fur to show that he hadn't meant to be unkind, before squeezing through the cleft and out into the open.
This is sort of self-explanatory.
The Fourth Apprentice, pg. 205:She strained to make out the sounds of the brown animals, and she jumped when she heard Tigerheart's voice close beside her.
"Isn't this cool?" he mewed. "We're going to find these animals, and then - pow! Give us back our water! They won't refuse. If they do - well..." He crouched down, then sprang into the air, swiping his forepaws in a strong clawing move.
Tsk, Tigerheart! Such a show-off!
The Fourth Apprentice, pg. 208:"Don't be scared," Tigerheart whispered, padding up to stand beside her, with his pelt brushing hers. "I'll look after you."
This is the point where I was like, awww...how cute!
The Fourth Apprentice, pg. 245-6:Dovepaw was impressed, too. Tigerheart could be annoying sometimes, but she had to admit he wasn't stupid.
Again, a little obvious.
The Fourth Apprentice, pg. 208:Gripping as hard as she could, until she thought her claws would be ripped out, Dovepaw was suddenly jerked into open water again. A bundle of tabby fur, dark from the water, whisked past her with a wail.
Tigerheart!
Blinking water out of her eyes, Dovepaw watched with horror as the young ShadowClan warrior vanished beneath the surface.
StarClan, no!
Funny, she didn't act like this when Rippleclaw died...
Dovepaw just had time to reply, "Yes, I'll miss you too."
And that's the last quote that supports this pairing.
I certainly hope this doesn't turn out like Lionblaze and Heathertail, where they meet each other secretly. But there's a rumor that in Night Whispers, the title of the third book in OOTS, that part of it will be told from a ShadowClan viewpoint. Yes, it sounds strange but I got it from Warriors Wish, which is a really reliable site. So...do you think that eventually Dovepaw will join ShadowClan to be with Tigerheart? I mean, she's too much of a goody-goody to do anything outside of the code. In fact, she sort of reminds me of Firestar, in a way. Comments can go in the form below.
